We designed and built a new kitchen and breakfast room off the existing living room.  The old kitchen became a laundry, pantry  and home office.  With the new kitchen wing came an opportunity to open the house to more outdoor living spaces with access through pairs of french doors on two sides. 

The existing house was constructed of exposed, painted concrete block walls with no roof overhang and steel windows.  We replaced all the windows with wood casements, added a bit of overhang with oversized gutters and furred out the block walls for a new, sand finish cement stucco finish.  The color was achieved through the addition of pink sand to the stucco.
